Confused About Pricing?

Launched in 2008, the ASMP Paperwork Share helps members as they run their businesses by viewing and sharing actual job invoices with fellow members. You can see it here. Now, we need your help to expand and update this invaluable resource. With assignments moving to more frequently bundled licenses, video becoming a more frequent offering to clients, and pricing challenged by the economy, we need you to help us by sharing assignments or stock sales from the last year. Submissions made online by going here. If you have questions, contact Susan Carr, Education Director, carr@asmp.org.

FYI: The Lab

The Lab is a unique blog developed and inspired by Agency Access for photographers, illustrators, and artist reps. It is intended to answer questions about the “business of being an artist” and 3 different labs have been established: The Marketing Lab focuses on direct marketing, web marketing, social media marketing and promotional planning; The Creative Lab incorporates feedback from art buyers and creatives, as well as ideas on inspiring creativity; and The Business Lab concentrates on the “business side of things” including tips on growing your business through sales, estimating and negotiating. Introducing Frank Duffy: Member & Newest Board Member!

Frank became addicted to photography at the age of 16 when he developed his first roll of film. Early in his career he worked as a Medical Photographer and Portrait photographer.

He received a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Visual Studies Workshop. Before leaving education to open his own studio he headed the photography program at Villa Maria College in Buffalo N.Y. He has exhibited his work widely and has prints in many public and private collections.

He has been managing his own photography studio for over 20 years. Before relocating to St Petersburg, Florida he had studios in Costa Rica and Buffalo, New York. He spent 13 years living and working as a photographer in Costa Rica, specializing in architectural and hospitality work. He also has extensive experience in aerial photography, and travel photography. Working in Costa Rica has allowed him to work for a wide range of clients including hotels, travel companies, real estate developers, designers, and advertising agencies. His studio in Buffalo specialized in product, catalog, and industrial work. He also has an extensive stock photography library. His years of experience show in the artistic and technical aspects of his work.

Currently Frank is back in education teaching in the Photography Program at St Petersburg College as an Adjunct Professor.
